New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is actively seeking an Electrician for a 3-month contract position with the potential for a contract extension or conversion. Compensation: $39.50 per hour The Electrician will oversee the daily operation of the campus electrical power and lighting systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise with a variety of building infrastructure. The individual in this role must be available for on-call work. Off-hours shifts, evening, night and weekend work may be required. Responsibilities: Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required. Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment. Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching and motor controls. Monitor operation, repair, and maintain other mechanical and electrical equipment; recording readings as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions. Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Assists the Supervisor with maintenance, monitoring, and performance of preventive maintenance on all equipment including, but not limited to, electrical, heat exchanger, HVAC, emergency backup systems and hot water systems. Maintains a clean and safe workplace. Oversees the general operation, repair and maintenance of the building electrical and lighting systems, perform new installations and perform PMs. Serves as a subject matter expert on all electrical, life safety, and fire alarm systems. Understands the engineering design and operational aspects of the building critical systems and components. Assists other departments in the maintenance and repair of heating and cooling valves, water cooling equipment; boilers, heating and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters. Recommends and estimates facilities repairs and improvements for inclusion in the annual budget. Ensures the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the building. Specific duties include but are not limited to preparing and submitting purchase orders requests, developing sources for stock materials and performing periodic checks of inventory levels and equipment conditions. Required Skills/Experience: Solid understanding of NFPA-70E is required. Prior safety training such as NFPA-70e and OSHA-10 8+ years of electrical experience Electrical License Minimum of a high school diploma Must be proficient in basic computer application such as MS Office, Outlook, Work Order System, etc Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
