Resident Safety Coordinator

The W Assisted Living Communities is looking for a Resident Safety Coordinator. We have our eye out for a compassionate and energetic candidate.

Shifts needed:

Monday through Friday 3pm to 10 pm

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Resident Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a peaceful, safe and friendly environment within the Assisted Living Facility. This individual will be the first responder for interventions when a safety matter arises among people in the space, including staff, community members, and other guests.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in safety management, including de-escalation and or conflict resolution
• Experience working directly with vulnerable populations
• Available to work during the night shift
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal, verbal, communication skills
• Ability to adapt to circumstances in a sometimes-high-pressure environment and demonstrate sound judgment
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of diverse races, identities, ethnicities, ages, gender identity and sexual orientations in a social justice driven environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of security-related work experience
• Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet
• Investigative ability, highly organized, self-motivated, takes initiative, excellent written and verbal communication and analytical critical thinking skills; able to perform without much supervision.
• Understanding of communicating effectively with employees and residents in order to develop positive relationships.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify opportunities to reduce risk factors, and promote safety throughout the facility
• Serve as the first point of contact for any safety concerns to intervene and de-escalate situations
• Proactively initiate non-judgmental conversations to create and maintain relationships
• Make recommendations to improve facility policies, increase community safety and engagement
• Monitor premises, visitor access and maintain security awareness
• Perform daily (12:00 AM) head count of all residents
• Supervise all overnight shift employees
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
• Carry out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
• Maintain order and establish a presence at the front point area
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter
• De-escalate resident conflicts
• Respond to both medical and fire alarms, as well as other resident requests.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
• Monitor resident smoking room and ensure smoking compliance throughout the facility
• Provide concierge and general customer service to residents, a nd other duties, as assigned by the Administrator
