Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse in Ambulatory Surgery, you will play a critical role in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating care for surgical patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accept patient care assignments and collaborate with team members to provide high-quality nursing care.
• Engage with patients to understand their knowledge and expectations about surgical procedures while adhering to established protocols.
• Involve patients and their significant others in the development of care plans, education, and discharge planning to prioritize their needs effectively.
• Demonstrate basic nursing skills in patient care, monitor patient responses, and maintain a safe environment.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care through ongoing assessments and follow-up communication with patients post-surgery.
• Make sound clinical decisions and know when to involve management or other team members for support.
• Communicate changes in patients' conditions promptly to the physician and document care accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments according to hospital policy with precision and care.
• Apply evidence-based practices in surgical nursing tailored to the age-specific and clinical needs of patients.
• Maintain a safe and alert working environment at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent.

Experience:

• No prior experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant use of speech for communication.
• Frequent standing and walking.
• Occasional lifting/carrying of patients or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use.
• Use of vision for distance and near sight, as well as depth perception.
• Ability to detect smells and sounds related to patient monitoring.

Required Professional License and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by a Compact State or Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
