• Title: Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) Trauma Level I

• Department: Surgical Services Operating Room

• Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)

• Schedule: Day Shift | 3x12s (07:00 19:00 or 09:00 21:00), Start times vary (7am, 9am, 11am)

• Start Date: 07/28/2025

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Trauma facility within Providence Health and Services. The ideal candidate must be well-versed in trauma, orthopedic, neuro, and vascular surgical procedures and able to work in a fast-paced environment. A strong foundation in aseptic technique and equipment management is essential.

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for a variety of surgical cases.

• Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments.

• Ensure a sterile field and maintain aseptic technique at all times.

• Handle surgical instruments and supplies appropriately before, during, and after procedures.

• Support OR functions including case setup, turnover, and documentation.

• Participate in on-call coverage and weekend rotations.

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

• Minimum Required: 1 year of recent OR Tech experience.

• Required Case Experience: Trauma, Outpatient, Community Hospital, Orthopedic, Neuro, Vascular.

• Preferred: Inpatient, General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Transplant, Robotic, and Trauma cases.

• BLS Required

• NBSTSA Certification Preferred

• Travel Experience Required

• State License Must be active at time of submission; no pending accepted

• Local candidates Not accepted

Required Surgical Case Proficiencies:

• Trauma (Gunshot wounds, MVAs)

• Orthopedic (Total joints, spinal fusions)

• Neuro Surgery (Craniotomy, ALIF, cervical fusions)

• Vascular (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Fem-pop bypass)

• General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Thoracic, Robotic

• Endoscopic and laparoscopic-assisted procedures

• Airway Management, Sterile technique, Instrumentation handling

• Shift Info: Day 3x12 (07:00-19:00 or 09:00-21:00); start times may vary

• Call Requirement: 1 weeknight per week + every 2nd or 3rd weekend (Sat/Sun) 0700 0700, 20-min response

• Weekend Requirement: 3 per schedule

• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may cancel 1 shift per 2 weeks

• Block Schedule: Not allowed

• RTO Policy: All requests must be submitted upfront; approvals depend on facility needs

• First-time Travelers: Accepted
