Position Summary:
Laser Technician are needed to permanently identify product with serial number, lot number or batch number using operation sheets, customer blueprints and specifications. Represent Viant in a professional and exemplary manner before our suppliers, employees and community at large.
Maintain customer quality requirements without assistance.
Inspect all work accurately to ensure product quality.
Train lesser grade individuals on all aspect of laser marking and inspection techniques.
Set-Up, edit programs and operate all marking and engraving operations for new and existing jobs.
Perform laser marking & engraving tasks from blueprint instructions with minimal supervision or technical assistance.
Trouble shoot and adjust set-ups, as necessary.
Schedule work thru laser department.
Design new set-ups and tooling to speed up or increase the quality level of assembly operations.
Verify the revision level for the current operation (operation sheets, blue prints)
Verify Pc count and all applicable documentation for completion of previous operations.
To complete all applicable documentation for the current operation (i.e. Shop traveler sign off and first pc, inspection record sheet, and/or AQL and NCMR)
Update Job travelers with changes to routings and runtimes.
Documentation of set-ups onto set-up sheets.
Maintain and document maintenance on the laser marker.
Complies with work rules including those pertaining to safety, health, quality system, and Viant Quality Management System.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age
Must have a Baseline Vision Exam
Preferred a minimum of 4 years laser experience.
Laser 1st piece certified
Must pass a Vision test
Good mechanical ability and comprehension
A strong desire to learn
Ability to use all necessary inspection tools.
Able to read operation sheets and perform tasks accordingly.
Complete and thorough knowledge of all inspection equipment needed
Maintain organization to ISO operation procedures.
Complete all job specific required training.
Perform duties to achieve overall business unit metrics.
Identify areas of improvement with positive impact on companywide performance metrics.
Document changes necessary to the job traveler which reflect actual job operation.
