Job Title: Design Intern

Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan Fashion District

Department: DKNY Sportswear

Reports To: Design Team

Position Summary

G-III Apparel Group is seeking a creative and motivated Design Intern to support the design team in the development and organization of seasonal collections. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple facets of the design process, from fabric and trim organization to assisting with showroom preparation and trend research. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to gain real-world fashion industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in fabric and trim organization.
• Run errands, including buying garments or trims, and complete administrative office tasks.
• Communicate with overseas factories and vendors as needed.
• Image garments and ensure they are properly tagged for showroom.
• Pull tear sheets and prepare clothing for edit meetings and seasonal markets.
• Conduct trend research to support design inspiration.
• Create tech packs and layouts as required.
• Assist in day-to-day design room operations, including ordering supplies and maintaining organization.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design.
• Available at least 35 full days per week .
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Word .
• Ability to spec a garment accurately.
• Knowledge of garment construction, both hand and machine sewing techniques.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Creative, motivated, and able to manage both independent and collaborative tasks.
• Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment with an elevated taste level.

Compensation

• Pay: $20.00/hour - $21.00/hour
