B&H Specialty Construction is a design-build general contracting firm specializing in high-end custom residential projects, luxury renovations, and large-scale additions across Florida. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team.

Position Overview

The CFO will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, overseeing all financial operations of the company. This individual will be responsible for financial strategy, job costing, forecasting, risk management, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in construction finance and a proven ability to scale financial operations in a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company growth and project pipelines.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, ensuring projects remain profitable and well-funded.
  • Manage and refine job costing systems, WIP reporting, and project accounting processes.
  • Direct AP/AR, payroll, banking relationships, and bonding/insurance compliance.
  • Produce timely and accurate financial statements, dashboards, and variance reports.
  • Advise ownership on financial planning, risk mitigation, and capital structure.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and compliance practices.
  • Lead finance staff and coordinate with project managers to align financial and operational goals.
  • Partner with external stakeholders (banks, bonding agents, auditors, tax advisors).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience; at least 5 years in construction or related industry required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete methodologies.
  • Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and overseeing financial strategy in a growth environment.
  • Proficiency with construction ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to convey financial insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
