About the Role As a Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one‑on‑one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Seeking a certified tutor with expertise in structured literacy and dyslexia intervention to provide intensive, individualized support for a 7th‑grade student diagnosed with dyslexia. The tutor will focus on foundational literacy skills, including alphabet knowledge, letter recognition, and phonemic awareness, using systematic, multisensory instructional methods. In addition to literacy support, the tutor will assist with math homework, providing one‑on‑one guidance to help the student understand grade‑level math concepts and stay focused during sessions. The student benefits from a structured, engaging approach that incorporates personal interests, such as Nintendo and mobile gaming, to maintain motivation. Details In‑Person Tutoring in Long Beach, CA Schedule: 2 sessions a week (tutoring hours TBD) Competitive hourly rate based on experience Ideal Candidate Certified reading specialist or equivalent with experience in dyslexia intervention. Proficient in bilingual instruction (English/Spanish required). Skilled in structured literacy programs and multisensory teaching approaches. Patient, creative, and able to build rapport with students. Key Responsibilities Deliver structured, multisensory literacy instruction targeting foundational reading skills. Support math homework completion with clear, individualized explanations and practice. Use engaging, student‑centered strategies to maintain focus and motivation.
