Job Description

Accounting (Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable) Clerk

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking an Accounts Receivables Specialist to join their team in California. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, playing a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial health of the company.
Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain accounts receivable records.
  • Sort and process A/R mail and deposits on a daily basis.
  • Process move-ins & move-outs and assist tenants with the online payment system.
  • Provide A/R phone support to tenants and managers, and back-up incoming calls as needed.
  • Maintain tenant ledgers & database, keeping them accurate and up-to-date.
  • Post commercial rents & send monthly statements, and handle data entry for rent raises, amendments, and charges.
  • Attach all Rental Agreements, Commercial Leases, Modifications, & Addendums to tenants in the accounting software system.
  • Backup processing of NSF checks and enter all new commercial leases into the application.
  • Coordinate with collection agencies on past due tenants.
  • Collaborate with Resident Managers and Portfolio Managers to assure 100% of rents due are collected each month.
  • Prepare delinquency reports twice monthly for review
  • Learn and be familiar with accounting software and all of its functionality.
  • Provide administrative support to staff and perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Reliable with a dependable vehicle and good driving record.
  • Yardi Voyager software knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with remote staff.
Education and Experience

An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Required Work Hours

The position requires availability from Monday to Friday, during standard business hours.
Benefits

Competitive compensation with a pay range of $26.00 to $28.00 per hour.
