Accounting Assistant Position

Our client, a leading organization in the financial sector, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join their team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be an integral part of the Finance Department supporting the accounting operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Location: Collierville, TN

Pay Range: $50.00 per hour

Shift: Days 1st shift Monday - Friday

What's the Job?

• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain accurate financial records using journals, ledgers, and computer systems.
• Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial documents following established procedures.
• Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases utilizing specialized accounting software.
• Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, proper entry, and adherence to codes and regulations.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting documentation as needed for audits and management review.

What's Needed?

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate's degree in accounting or related financial discipline is preferred.
• 5-7 years of financial and/or accounting experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other accounting software applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and apply accounting and mathematical principles accurately.
