Please join us for Saturday plans!

8:45–10:00 am

Morning Ceremony

Photos & flower garden walk

Fragrance Garden, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 990 Washington Avenue

parking | ceremony location

Join us for our quick and cute ceremony! The gathering will take place at one of our favorite places in Brooklyn, starting at 9:00 sharp, and lasting about 15 minutes. We’ll have the rest of the hour to enjoy the Garden privately and take photos.

Our spot within BBG is easily accessible from the Washington Av entrance via the 2 3 4 S trains at Franklin Av, and parking is available directly next to the entrance.

3:00–6:30 pm

Afternoon Picnic

Refreshments & local pizza

Concert Grove Pavilion, Prospect Park, 153 East Drive

parking | find us in the park

We’re so often in Prospect Park, it feels only natural to celebrate our wedding there! We will set up a sprawling picnic in one of our favorite spots and bring refreshments for a beautiful late summer picnic. At ~5:00 we will have pizza delivered for everyone, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Please plan to bring light picnic fare, including your preferred alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and blankets or lawn chairs, if you have them.

Our picnic spot is best accessed via the Prospect Park B Q S trains, and limited parking is available inside the park (follow the Lincoln Rd entrance).

7:00–11:00 pm

Evening Bar Hang

Drinks & bar bites

Franklin Park (back bar), 618 St. John’s Place

the bar | parking

Come hang out at one of our favorite bars! In fact, we had our third date here! We’ve reserved the back bar section just for us from 7 to 11pm. Drink tickets and a variety of bar bites will be provided!

The bar is closest to the Franklin Av 2 3 4 S station, and your best bet for nearby parking is likely on the street.

FAQ:

How can we RSVP?
That part is coming soon! Please save the date for now, and we’ll email everyone again when we get closer to check in and confirm our numbers.

If you know for sure you won’t be able to make it on the 6th, no worries at all! Please let us know and we’ll plan to celebrate with you the next chance we get.

What’s the dress code?
Colorful casual! Please dress for comfort, especially as we hang out in the park. Think cute sneakers, fun sundresses, bright button downs, and maybe a light sweater for the evening. But make it colorful!

What to expect weather-wise?
The average high/low in NYC on Sept. 6 is between 70 and 80°F, though it can sometimes still reach into the 90s. Rain is unlikely this time of year, but if it’s in the forecast we’ll let you know the week before.

But what if it does rain?
We’ll keep things going rain or shine! The morning ceremony will go on rain or shine. The park picnic may be moved underneath the special awning there, or to another venue if necessary.

Is there a gift registry?
No; we ask that your gift to us be your presence, a lovely little contribution to the picnic, and a short letter wishing us (presumably) luck and sharing any reflections, advice, or embarrassing stories you like. (We’ll email everyone about the letter thing closer to the day!)

What should we do during that early afternoon gap on Saturday?
Whatever you like! There are some suggestions in the map for brunch places following the morning ceremony and a few of our favorite spots in general. Truthfully, we’ll probably be resting up ahead of the picnic!

What about the picnic? How will it work?
We are envisioning an easy plop-down picnic in Prospect Park, in the style of so many of Anna’s traditional birthday parties! We will bring a bunch of blankets, chairs, and drinks, ice, and speakers. Besides a group toast, the program is just to hang out and have fun!

There are benches in the picnic area already, but it will be helpful if guests can bring blankets, lawn chairs, or coolers if you have any that are easily portable (out-of-towners, don’t worry about it!). Besides the drinks and snacks we bring in, there are a few bodegas and such just across the street from the park for quick refills. You can check the map for the location of these, too.

Lastly, there are decently nice public bathrooms available just to the north and south of our picnic spot—along the park entrance near Lincoln Rd and at the LeFrak rink.

How does the bar work?
Franklin Park is a large bar and outdoor space and will remain open to the public Saturday evening. We’ll have the back bar reserved just for us and drink tickets for everyone as well as some snacks. The reservation goes through 11pm but feel free to stay and have fun later, if you like! The best way to get to the back bar is through the side entrance on St. John’s: walk through the outdoor area with picnic tables all the way to the back.

Can I bring young children?
Since the Botanic Garden has a hard limit on guests in its morning ceremonies, we are unable to bring children for this part of the day. The bar also does not allow children after 5pm. They are more than welcome for the afternoon picnic!

We can’t wait!

Lounge on the beach with BYO recovery burritos

Beach 67, Rockaways, 144 Beach 67 St

beach | burritos

Join us on the beach! We’ll be in lounge mode Sunday afternoon, so if you’re free, or if you want to sneak in more fun before getting to JFK, join us at one of our usual spots! Super Burrito is also a time-honored tradition of beachgoing, so don’t be shy!

It looks far on the map, but if you can get to the A train (make sure it’s Far Rockaway bound), it’s a single ride all the way out to the Beach 67 St stop! Driving is also a pretty direct shot, and street parking should be pretty doable near the beach.
